Catching up on the last four months..

So I know I am a little late to the party in starting this blog but it’s only now that I have made some progress that I feel like I have something to offer the blogosphere.

If you’ve read my first post you will know that I started at 17st 7lbs (247lbs). The date of the first weigh in was Wednesday 19th November and on that day I took my first ever progress pictures. Obviously at that time I didn’t have an idea that I would be sharing these with the world so I chose to wear hideous leopard print pants and a black sports bra – now the world is stuck with this image and i apologise for my poor fashion choice that morning!

The difficult first post!

So introductions first. My name’s Rachel, I am 31, engaged to the man of my dreams and i’m obese.

Urgh that sounds awful.

After a lifetime of trying to embrace my ‘curveyness’ and ‘own who I am’ after stepping on the scales at the start of this journey and seeing 17 stone 7 (247 lbs for any stray American’s amongst you) I can’t deny it any longer. My first BMI result 😦

I have to admit that I was a bit shocked. At that point I hadn’t stepping on the scales in years. I knew that I had gained weight but it had been steadily so I didn’t really notice it – apart from the fact I was less comfortable in tighter clothes that I used to be.
